Celebrating Dr Marcia White’s Doctoral Achievement

We are delighted to celebrate an outstanding achievement by Dr Marcia White, Secondary Outreach Lead at Bromley Trust Academy, who has recently graduated with a Doctorate of Education (EdD) from Canterbury Christ Church University.

Marcia graduated at Canterbury Cathedral on Wednesday 9 September, marking the culmination of several years of study, research and perseverance alongside working full time in education.

Her doctoral research explored the lived experiences of children involved in managed moves and off-site directions, with a particular focus on exclusion, belonging and pupil voice. Her research has grown directly from her experience in education and her work supporting children and families.

Adding to this fantastic achievement, Marcia was also awarded the Ede & Ravenscroft Academic Achievement Prize, making an already special occasion even more memorable.

The celebrations continued the following day when Marcia presented her doctoral research at the British Educational Research Association (BERA) Annual International Conference at the University of Manchester. She had the opportunity to share her findings with academics, researchers and education professionals from across the UK and internationally.

Completing a doctorate while working full time is a fantastic achievement, and everyone across the Trust would like to congratulate Dr Marcia White on this significant milestone and well-deserved recognition.
