Belmont’s Olivia Shines Once Again – From TV Screens to Radioshows

We could not be prouder of Belmont Academy's very own Olivia, whose courage and positivity continue to inspire everyone who meets her. Whether she’s lighting up soaps such as EastEnders or appearing on popular morning shows like This Morning, Olivia is no stranger to the spotlight.

Recently, she took on an entirely new challenge her very first radio debut and, as always, she approached it with the same warmth, confidence, and determination that make her such a remarkable young person.

Olivia was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour at just 17 months old, which took her sight but never her spirit. Now nine years old, she radiates joy and positivity through every challenge she faces. Her beloved teddy bear, Corry, has been by her side throughout her journey, offering comfort and companionship.

It’s no surprise, then, that Corry became the inspiration for the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Bear, named by Olivia herself in partnership with Children with Cancer UK. When the charity invited her to record their latest radio advert to raise awareness and funds for vital research, Olivia embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly.

Recording in the same booth used by Peppa Pig, Olivia brought her story to life through sound, exploring the equipment by touch and lending her voice to a powerful campaign that will be heard across the UK. Her participation helps shine a light on the urgent need for continued research and support for children living with cancer.
