London South East Academies Trust has today welcomed the outstanding Warren Road Primary School into its network of schools.
This exciting transfer follows many months of consultations with the school’s community, including parents, staff and governors.
Warren Road becomes London South East Academies Trust’s (LSEAT) tenth school. It joins its mainstream primary Belmont Academy, together with eight alternative and special provision schools across Bromley, Bexley, Surrey and Lambeth.
Currently a single academy trust, leaders and governors at Warren Road Primary School sought to join a larger family of schools to support and secure its sustainability, growth and development, which will benefit current and future pupils and staff.
The school chose LSEAT as its preferred partner, having undertaken a full and robust selection process. The aim of this was to identify a Trust with aligned values and the same commitment to providing excellent provision for every single child.
Having been rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in late 2022, Warren Road is a large primary school, with c840 pupils and 120 staff. It holds a range of accreditations including the primary science and history quality marks and gives the highest priority to academic excellence. Children are supported to excel in all areas, through high quality teaching and learning.
CEO of London South East Academies Trust, Dr Sam Parrett CBE, said:
“We are delighted to welcome the Warren Road Primary School community into our growing network.
“The phenomenal support that parents and staff have for the school has been very clear throughout the consultation process and is fantastic to see.
“As a Trust, we recognise, welcome and nurture the individuality of our schools. We know, unequivocally, that our school leaders best understand the needs of their pupils and communities.
“Our role is to provide the support, resource and additional expertise that our schools need to thrive and grow. In the case of Warren Road, this means helping to sustain, future-proof and enhance outstanding provision.
“We look forward to working with James and his team, as well as parents and carers, to ensure that pupils continue to have the best possible educational experience – while also benefiting from the many new and exciting opportunities that we, as a successful and growing Trust, can offer.”
Headteacher at Warren Road Primary School, James Ellis, who has led the transfer with Chair of Governors, Milena Cooper, added:
“Today’s official transfer is the culmination of many months of work, during which time we have consulted widely with our whole school community. Our priority has been ensuring that we can secure our school’s future and sustain outstanding provision, while being able to offer new opportunities for staff and pupils.
“London South East Academies Trust, like us, believes in excellence for all. It’s expertise in SEN will be of great value and we look forward to supporting the growth of its mainstream primary school hub over the coming months and years.
“This is an exciting time for our school and our community – and I’m extremely grateful for everyone’s support, which has enabled us to get to this point.”
