Mayor of Bexley Visits Belmont Academy

Belmont Academy was visited by an influential guest this week the Mayor of Bexley. As part of her visit, the Mayor presented Belmont with a special Mayoral Bear a token of appreciation for the school’s incredible fundraising efforts towards her chosen charity ‘Bexley Counselling Matters.

The visit began with a whole school assembly, where the Mayor spoke about her role, her journey into public service, and the importance of giving back to the community.

Following the assembly, Belmont’s School Parliament made up of pupil representatives from across the school had the unique opportunity to do a Q&A session with the Mayor. From questions about local government to her favourite part of being Mayor, the pupils impressed everyone with their curiosity, confidence and thoughtful discussion.

At the heart of this visit was a celebration of Belmont Academy’s commitment to social responsibility. As a Trust, we are proud to see our schools modelling values of empathy, leadership and active citizenship.
