As a thriving multi-academy trust with a proven track record for transformation and improvement, we are on a growth journey.

We are approaching this by developing specific school hubs. This will help ensure a mixed economy of provision across the region, ensuring more children and young people have access to high-quality education.

Our network comprises mainstream, special and alternative provision academies, an outreach service and a music hub, located across Bromley, Bexley, Lambeth, East Sussex and Surrey.

Frimley Oak Academy

In March 2024, our Trust was selected by the Department for Education (DfE) to lead the development of a new SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) free school for 11–18-year-olds in Frimley, Surrey.
The proposed school will provide much-needed specialist SEMH provision to meet growing demand for places in Surrey. It will also support clear progression pathways for pupils moving on from our primary SEMH provision at Bramley Oak Academy in Guildford.
Following the 2024 General Election, the government announced a pause on the progression of some free school projects while a national review of the programme was carried out. As part of that review, local authorities were asked to confirm whether projects continued to meet local need.
We are pleased that Surrey County Council has now confirmed in principle that Frimley Oak Academy should proceed, reflecting the ongoing demand for specialist SEMH provision in the county. We are now awaiting final approval from the Department for Education before the project can move to the next stage of development.
We look forward to continuing to work with the Department for Education, Surrey County Council and other partners to secure this much-needed SEMH provision.

The Workplace

An Alternative Provision in Bexhill, East Sussex, is in the process of transferring into London South East Academies Trust.
Following an inadequate Ofsted judgement, the Department for Education led a competitive process to identify a new Trust for The Workplace to transfer into. LSEAT was selected due to its strong track record in school improvement and its leadership of Alternative Provision across East Sussex.
The Workplace supports up to 94 pupils in Years 9–11 who are unable to access mainstream education. As part of the transfer, the school will be renamed East Sussex Skills Academy and will continue to offer a range of vocational pathways, helping young people to re-engage with learning and realise their potential.
We are working closely with East Sussex County Council, the current Trust (Sabden Multi-Academy Trust) and other key partners to ensure a smooth transition. The transfer is expected to take place in April 2026.
